Once upon a time, Alchemist 42Genius42 made an instructions solve for this puzzle.

This solve was modified with minimal effort - just changing instructions and adding 1 more arm & track piece to get 126 cycles. That will do...

Then I had another look later trying faster build methods, still leaving the top arms from the instructions solve the same and got to 110. That will do... and if it wasn't for Alchemist Jammuu's effort that's where I would have left it... Jammuu quickly figured it was faster to have pistons for each elemental atom after the quint-split rather than a hex-arm that has to grab/turn/drop for each atom pick-up and came up with a 97 cycles then eventually an 81. Impressive stuff! Though now the bottleneck was around what was at the time the lower hex-arm (now tri-arm) spinning over the triplexes, forcing a period of 12. Spurred on by Alchemist Jammuu's efforts, Alchemist 42Genius42 soon got it down to period 11 and then, after 2 more hours, down to period 10... giving a cycles count of 71.

Good enough for a top 10? Or will we be sad? :'(
